This theme asks us to consider how new approaches within academic learning support can remain ahead of changing contexts. What are institutions doing, and what methods are being used in academic learning support in relation to: Accessibility, peer mentorship, reducing barriers, and promoting inclusion and equitable education. 

This conference will highlight innovative approaches to supporting learning and academic success for future generations of students and educators.

About Humber College Campus: 

Humber North Campus is located in the Northwest part of Toronto, within 10minutes of Pearson International Airport. This location is also home to University of Guelph-Humber. Humber College is connected to miles of walking paths through the nature gardens of the Humber Arboretum and cycling paths along the Humber River.  

Conference Location: 

Humber College North Campus, 203 Humber College Boulevard,Toronto, M9W 6V3.  Humber Residence, T Building-Room T132, (labelled T on the Campus Map).  

Driving to Humber College:  

Take Highway 27 or Queens Plate North until you hit Humber College Boulevard. Turn left onto Humber College Blvd. Then, turn left onto Arboretum Blvd. 

Parking:

When you enter the campus, you can find visitor paid parking in Lots 5 OR 6, for $10/day, (unfortunately, lot 1 which is closest to residence, is for reserved parking only).

Once you park, the best way to find the residence T building is to walk outdoors and head south on Arborteum Blvd.  Use the furthest entrance to the T building and the training room is down the first corridor on your right ( T132).

From Union Station: 

Take Line 1 (Yonge-University) towards Vaughan Metropolitan Centre Station; change trains at St. George station, (6 stops from Union Station). Take Line 2 (Bloor-Danforth) to Kipling Station (final stop on Line 2). Use the escalators, stairs or elevators on the lower level up to the bus level. Take the 927A, 927B, 927C or 927D Highway 27 Express bus via Humber College. Stop is Humber College Blvd. at Hwy 27. Cross the pedestrian walkway and walk down Humber College Blvd. (approximately 9 mins.) towards Humber College North Campus Residence.

The Woodbine Hotel and Suites is located at the intersection of Hwy 27 and Vice Regent Boulevard. The hotel is a 5 minute drive from Humber North Campus and a 25 minute trip on TTC Bus#927 Highway Express from Kipling Station, at Hwy 27 and Queens Plate Dr.  

A group rate has been secured for the Woodbine Hotel and Suites.  Applicable Dates: December 6th-8th, 2018.  

Group Code: HUM18 (group code will be available until November 27th, 2018. Please call Woodbine hotel and suites directly prior to November 27th to state the group and select rooms under the group code).  

Room Type & Rates

1.)  Two standard double beds accommodates up to four guest; $95 plus tax.

2.)  Single king room accommodates up to two guest; $90 plus tax.

3.)  Single queen room accommodates up to two guest; $90 plus tax.
