Transitions: People, Practice, Profession
May 11 - 13, 2015
University of Guelph, Guelph, Ontario, Canada
It is our pleasure to invite you to join us at the University of Guelph to participate in the Learning Specialists Association of Canada's third biennial national conference. This year's theme, Transitions: People, Practice, Profession reflects the ever changing nature of being a learning specialist, and the impact of technology on all of these aspects. The people we serve, whether they be students, staff, or faculty, undergo transitions that we support through our practice. Our practice transitions constantly as new research in education and psychology informs the way we approach our services, delivery, and our profession. Lastly, our profession is in transition as post-secondary enrolments grow while budgets shrink, and LSAC continues to work towards further professionalizing learning specialists across the country.
The conference team is hard at work organizing pre-conference workshops, numerous keynote addresses, concurrent sessions, and entertainment. I am proud to sit on this multi-institutional team to colloborate and work with my colleagues across three institutions to bring you this professional development opportunity.
We look forward to seeing you in "the Royal City" for LSAC 2015.
Michael Lisetto-Smith
LSAC President
